LostMod GPS Services – Frequently Asked Questions

LostMod GPS is a real-time vehicle tracking and fleet management service that lets you monitor your vehicles 24/7 using a mobile app and web panel.
A small GPS device is installed in your vehicle, which sends live location and sensor data to our secure cloud server. You can see this data on the LostMod mobile app or web dashboard in real time.
You can track cars, bikes, trucks, buses, school vehicles, and commercial fleets, as long as a compatible LostMod GPS tracker is installed in each vehicle.
Yes, GPS tracking for personal and business vehicles is legal in India. For some commercial and public transport vehicles, AIS-140–compliant GPS devices are mandatory as per government regulations.
LostMod provides live location tracking, route history playback, overspeed alerts, geofencing alerts, ignition status, trip reports, and fleet insights for business users.
Yes, you can see the live location, current status, and direction of movement of your vehicle on the map inside the LostMod app and web panel.
Yes, you can create safe zones (geofences) and receive instant alerts when a vehicle enters or exits those areas, or when it is driven in odd hours or above your set speed limits.
On supported wired devices with proper installation, you can use the remote immobilization feature to cut off the engine in case of theft or unauthorized use. This feature is available only on selected models and must be used responsibly.
Fleet owners can monitor driver behavior, optimize routes, reduce fuel wastage, improve on-time deliveries, and generate detailed reports for operations and compliance using LostMod GPS tracking.
A trained technician connects the GPS device to your vehicle’s power and ignition (or OBD port, depending on the model) and verifies live tracking on your LostMod app before completing the installation.
Standard installation usually takes around 30–60 minutes per vehicle, depending on the vehicle type and wiring complexity.
Only minimal, safe connections are made to power and ignition lines. Our technicians aim to keep wiring neat, secure, and non-intrusive so that your vehicle’s original wiring remains intact.

LostMod uses GPS satellites for location and mobile networks for data, so it works across India wherever compatible mobile network coverage is available.
If your vehicle enters a no-network area, the device stores data and automatically sends it when network is restored, so you can still see completed routes and trips later.
GPS accuracy can drop in basements, tunnels, narrow streets with tall buildings, or areas with weak signal. Once the vehicle is in an open area with clear sky view, accuracy improves again.
