Miles Away, But Still Watching Over Them — A Father’s Story

❤️ Miles Away, But Still Watching Over Them — A Father’s Story

There’s something about distance that changes you.

I’ve been living in Canada for the past few years now. Good job, better opportunities… the kind of life every father dreams of building for his family. But dreams come with a cost.

In my case, it was distance from my children.

They’re back home in India—growing up, becoming independent, learning to drive, going out with friends… living their lives. And me? I’m here, thousands of miles away, staring at my phone more often than I’d like to admit.

🌙 The Nights I Couldn’t Sleep

It usually starts the same way.

I’d finish my work, come back to my apartment, and check the time in India. It would already be late there. Sometimes too late.

I’d send a simple message:
“Reached home?”

Sometimes they replied quickly. Sometimes they didn’t.

And those few minutes of silence… they felt like hours.

My mind would wander:

  • Are they still out?

  • Are they driving safely?

  • What if something happens?

I didn’t want to call again and again. I didn’t want to be that “strict father.”
But truth is… I was just a worried one.

🚗 When They Started Driving

The day my son told me, “Papa, I’ll take the car tonight,” I smiled and said, “Okay, drive safe.”

But after the call ended… I just sat there.

Because I knew what he didn’t—
👉 how unpredictable roads can be
👉 how one small mistake can change everything

And my daughter… she started going out with friends too. Late evenings, sometimes night outings.

I trusted them. I really did.

But trust doesn’t stop worry.
Especially when you’re not there to protect them.

🔍 A Decision Made Out of Love

One night, after another sleepless evening, I realized something.

I couldn’t control everything.
But maybe… I could stay a little more connected.

That’s when I came across LOSTMOD GPS trackers.

I thought about it for days.

Will they feel I’m spying on them?
Will this hurt our relationship?

Finally, I called them and said honestly:
👉 “This is not about checking on you. This is about me being able to breathe peacefully.”

There was a pause.

And then my son said,
“It’s okay, Papa. We understand.”

That moment… meant everything to me.

📍 The First Night After Installing LOSTMOD

I still remember it clearly.

That night, my son went out again.

Same situation. Same late hour.

But this time… something was different.

Instead of waiting and worrying, I opened the app.

I could see his car moving.
I could see the route.
I could see him heading home.

No panic. No overthinking.

Just a quiet feeling inside me:
👉 “He’s safe.”

For the first time in months… I slept peacefully.

💭 How Things Changed

Life didn’t suddenly become perfect.
But it became calmer.

Now:

  • I don’t call them repeatedly

  • I don’t overthink every delay

  • I don’t sit awake imagining worst scenarios

If they’re late, I check once… and that’s enough.

And surprisingly, our relationship improved.

They feel trusted.
I feel reassured.

No pressure. No arguments. Just understanding.

❤️ What It Means to Me Today

People might say it’s just a tracking device.

But for me… it’s more than that.

It’s:

  • Peace of mind after a long day

  • Sleep without anxiety

  • A way to feel close, even from another country

Because the truth is simple:

👉 A father never stops worrying.
👉 He just finds better ways to care.

🌍 From One Father to Another

If you’re living away from your kids like I am… you’ll understand this feeling.

That constant thought in the back of your mind.
That silent fear you don’t always express.

All I can say is—
you don’t have to carry that weight alone.

For me, LOSTMOD GPS became that small support system.

Not to control my children…
but to stay connected to them.

💬 And Every Night Now…

Before I sleep, I don’t wait for messages anymore.

I just take one look… and smile.

Because I know—
❤️ “They’re safe. And that’s all that matters.”
